A Demanding Job Inspires Assistant Kim Safford
When describing her job, normalcy isn’t a word Kim Safford is likely to use. “We don’t have normal days at Cambridge. For me, it’s always something different,” the executive assistant to Cambridge Realty Capital of Illinois President Andy Erkes explains.
Ms. Safford joined the company five years ago after working with a real estate law firm and attended Century 21 Real Estate Academy in Oak Lawn specializing in Real Estate Transactions, Contracts and Conveyancing, Advance Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Appraisal, Property Management, Financing, Sales and Brokerage, Farm Property Management, Real Property Insurance and Refresher Course for License Reinstatement in which she is certified. Ms. Safford is presently taking Century 21 Class studying for her Broker’s license and Property Appraisal.
“The thing I most enjoy at Cambridge is the diversity. We have many nationalities here, and everyone gets along so well. We’re like family,” she said.
As an example, she says her favorite Cambridge memory was a group outing at the race track where the newness of the activity – and the company of fellow workers – enabled her to “really enjoy myself.”
Among the things she likes most about working for Cambridge is “the freedom and privacy I have here. My number one goal is to complete all of my work in a timely manner, which can be a challenge at times” Ms. Safford says.
“At times I’m given a lot to do so it’s just a matter of playing it by ear. You have to prioritize the workload doing, what is most important first and leaving everything else for later.
“Cambridge is a very stable and secure company to work for. It’s a comfortable environment to work in and very laid back. The benefits are great and I also like the way Cambridge promotes from within. Overall, it is a great company and I am happy to be a part of it.”
