Jeff’s Illinois RE Journal Senior Housing Conference Takeaways #4


On a short-term basis, the senior housing commitment from institutional investors will continue to focus on assisted living and memory care with a private pay census.  The standard reasoning for this is “we don’t want the government as our partner.”  However, it should be noted that a mixed census with both private pay and government-supported residents makes a senior housing building truly affordable, and ultimately, affordability is key.
